Family Experiences with Primary Care: New Report

NAMI released a survey report on family experiences with primary care doctors in treating children and adolescents living with serious mental illness, exposing a broad gap between family needs and practitioner knowledge and resources.

The report also summarizes comments from doctors that families have found most helpful in addressing their concerns, resources families would like to see in primary care offices and recommendations families have on how doctors can follow-up with mental health concerns.

The 15-page survey report, along with a brochure for doctors and staff on how to communicate and partner with families, is available online.
