Members Resources

Through an extensive network of community partnerships, Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council makes a significant contribution to the public safety of communities across Colorado. Recognized as the 2009 Award Winner for Excellence in Grassroots Advocacy by the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, CBHC advocates on behalf of its members in support of their work to ensure that the mental health and substance abuse needs of vulnerable populations in Colorado are fully and effectively served through seamless, coordinated, and integrated services.

Through education, referrals, and linkages with schools, state agencies, businesses and private funding organizations, CBHC strives to help our state realize an environment where:

  • Policymakers value and support a strong community mental health system that is able to provide mental health and substance abuse services to meet the diverse needs of their local community.
  • Treatment would be provided in the most cost-efficient manner, using practices that assure the best possible health outcomes, and increase patient satisfaction.
  • Mental health, substance abuse and physical health services are provided in an integrated and coordinated fashion.
  • Colorado's Community Mental Health System is adequately funded to allow for access to comprehensive treatment of all citizens, despite age, insurance coverage, or income level.
  • Colorado invests in mental health and substance use prevention, earlier intervention, and wellness programs that aid employers in their efforts to maintain a healthy work force, increase educational success, and reduce homelessness and suicide.
  • Hospital emergency rooms, jails, prisons and schools no longer bear the costs of untreated mental illness and substance use disorders.
The following resources are provided through CBHC in order to empower our members and other members of the community to help us realize our goals for Colorado.
