On March 19, Peggy Hill joined Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC) as the Chief Operations Officer (COO). In that role, she will lead and manage the day to day operations of the organization and facilitate the development of staff as they steadily assume greater leadership on issues critical to the success of CBHC’s mission. Peggy will work in collaboration with George DelGrosso, the CEO of CBHC, to develop, implement, and plan the activities of CBHC. CBHC has a proven history in advocating for good public policy and funding for behavioral health.  Adding Peggy’s experience and leadership skills to the CBHC team is a real plus for the organization.

Peggy comes to CBHC from the Denver-based national headquarters of Nurse-Family Partnership, an evidence-based, early preventive intervention in the healthy development of low-income families. In her several roles in that organization, she led the effort to expand the program into community-based organizations throughout the country with a focus on program quality, effectiveness, and sustainable financing. As a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, she was responsible for fostering the development of their emerging national non-profit organization, integrating service functions, developing teams, and participating in federal and state level policy and advocacy efforts. Prior to her work with Nurse-Family Partnership, she was involved in prevention of child maltreatment and educational work related to the impact of trauma on early development. She began her career in community mental health, and has a Masters degree in community organization and counseling from Purdue University.

Over the next few months, Peggy will be working with George and the rest of the staff to become acquainted with our members, partners, and the issues facing community behavioral health in Colorado. She can be reached at:
