The New York Times recently published an article by Kevin Sack on the expansion of local health centers under the Bush Administration.  The article discusses the increasing emphasis on the role of these types of health centers in providing affordable primary care in the U.S.  Many at the federal level point to the need for these type of centers in response to a burdened healthcare system, that is increasingly expensive, in difficult economic times.  This trend is particularly important when discussing the integration of physical and mental healthcare.
