In an article written for the Denver Post, Karen Auge recently outlined the dire state of inpatient mental health resources available in Colorado.  With psychiatric beds either lost or in jeopardy across the state, the costs and burden of treating man persons with a serious mental illness will largely be shifted to other tax-payer funded resources, such as jails and emergency rooms.  As concerning, the proper care and services to help this extremely vulnerable population will no longer be available.
