North Range Program Supports Pregnant Women

In August of 2018, North Range Behavioral Health opened up Wings, a residential treatment center for pregnant women and mothers with children younger than five who are struggling with substance use disorders..

The program has quickly taken root within the community and just recently celebrated its very first graduate of the program.

The state requested that North Range open this type of facility, and it has certainly been a blessing to the community. It is also somewhat of an anomaly as Medicaid rarely pays for residential treatment. But the Wings program is funded through an arm of Medicaid called Special Connections.

The special connections made through the Wings program have created an environment where women can live and receive help in a safe place while also being able to stay with their children.

Anita Cisneros, the first graduate of the Wings program, shares her story with the Greeley Tribune which also explains the program in-depth.
