December 2024

CBHC Newsroom: December 2024

New Legislator Orientation

Legislators and CBHC members are invited to join us on Tuesday, December 18th, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM via Zoom.

Colorado’s community behavioral health providers play a crucial role in delivering mental health and substance use treatment, especially for our most vulnerable populations.

This orientation will offer both new and returning legislators a deeper understanding of Colorado’s community behavioral health system. Join us to learn about the principles of community-based care, explore its financing and regulatory framework, and hear about the important issues our members are prioritizing for the upcoming year.

Join us for CBHC’s Day at the Capitol!

CBHC will host its annual Day at the Capitol for our members on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Member organizations will have the opportunity to learn about CBHC’s legislative priorities for the current session through our Policy Academy in the morning, observe floor work at the Capitol and meet with legislators to advocate for behavioral health, and network with legislators and fellow members during an evening reception. The morning and evening events will take place at the Warwick Hotel.

RSVP today to secure your spot and make a difference!

CCBHC Announcement Update

In September, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF), in partnership with the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), submitted an application to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for the 2024 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Planning Grant. If approved, this grant would provide federal funding to help Colorado create the implementation plan for this evidence-based model that uses enhanced federal Medicaid matching dollars to support access and high-quality outcomes in the community behavioral health system.

While a decision was anticipated in early December, an update on the status of the planning grant application is still pending. Any news will be shared as soon as it becomes available.

As a 100% Association Member through CBHC, be sure to take advantage of the exclusive association member rate for NatCon. Don’t miss out on this valuable membership perk!
