CBHC was excited to participate in today’s launch of Colorado’s Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organizations and the Colorado LIFTS care coordination system.
As the long-time foundation of Colorado’s behavioral health safety net, CBHC’s members welcome the BHASOs as builders of a responsive, data-driven system that will enable all of us to better serve vulnerable Coloradans. Having the BHASOs in place to streamline administration of mental health, substance use disorder and crisis payments represents an important step toward maximizing efficiency of our behavioral health safety net. The regional care coordination represented by Colorado LIFTS and overseen by the BHASOs will realize an important part of the vision of the Behavioral Health Task Force: to enable smooth handoffs and continuity of care for everyone who needs mental health and substance use treatment.
CBHC and its members stand ready to enthusiastically partner with the state, the BHASOs, other providers and consumer stakeholders to implement this new system and ensure its effectiveness.
