The Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC) and its 23 member organizations visited the State Capitol building on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 for their annual Lobby Day at the Capitol. This signature day for CBHC highlights the importance of Colorado’s community behavioral health system. During meetings with legislators, community behavioral health providers from across the state will discuss mental health and substance use disorder needs with the hope of gaining support for local efforts geared towards creating better direct care opportunities for all Coloradans.
Prior to visiting the Capitol, CBHC held a breakfast at the Warwick Denver where Attorney General Phil Weiser gave a moving keynote address regarding the opioid crisis and the need for more behavioral health services across the state. Read a transcript of his speech HERE.
Thank you to Attorney General Weiser for taking the time to speak with CBHC members and for your passion for supporting behavioral healthcare needs for all Coloradans.
