The Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC) is pleased to announce that Edie Sonn will be joining our team as the Senior Director of External Affairs. She will begin her journey with us on August 15, 2022.
As the Senior Director of External Affairs, Edie’s responsibilities will include coordinating and enhancing community engagement and relationship building, serving as the key liaison for CBHC to state level policy makers, community members and stakeholders, creating and implementing a vision for successful outreach and communications, and guiding CBHC staff to assist with the overall goals of creating proactive engagement with policymakers and key community stakeholders.
Edie comes to us with more than 30 years of experience in policy and politics, having recently served as the Vice President of Public Affairs for Pinnacol Assurance, overseeing the company’s government relations, corporate social responsibility and community engagement initiatives. Previously, she has served as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Center for Improving Value in Healthcare and the Senior Director of Public Affairs at the Colorado Medical Society.
Edie holds a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University and is a bachelor of arts graduate and a Boettcher Scholar from Colorado College.
Her current community/board involvement includes WellPower (formerly Mental Health Center of Denver), Colorado Succeeds, Metropolitan State University of Denver Community Cabinet, Colorado College Public Interest Fellowship Program, Club 20, Colorado Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Competitive Council, Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation and the Pinnacol Foundation.
