We celebrate National Recovery Month every September to not only increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders but also to celebrate the people who recover. It’s an uphill battle that so many people face on a daily basis. We applaud those who seek out help, work hard at changing their lives, and become advocates for those who still struggle with substance use disorders.
