Suicide rates for those within the agricultural community are twice that of the regular population. Stigma, droughts, economic downturns, and many other factors contribute to this unfortunate statistic. However, Southeast Health Group, along with other local stakeholders has developed COMET, or Changing our Mental and Emotional Trajectory. This program offers meaningful and engaging concepts and messages for individuals regardless of their current understanding of mental health challenges. It offers people a chance to better help themselves in a crisis or a friend or family member.
Learn more about the struggles facing rural Colorado and the COMET program by reading CPR’s recent article HERE.
If you or a loved one are experiencing a mental health crisis, help is just a phone call or text away. Call the Colorado Crisis Hotline at 1-844-493-8255 or text “TALK” to 38255.
