Colorado Celebrates Mental Health Month With Event Featuring our New Behavioral Health Commissioner

Join CBHC, Mental Health Colorado, Behavioral Health Commissioner Dr. Morgan Medlock, Governor Polis, and others to mark the beginning of Mental Health Month

May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a national movement to raise awareness about the millions of Americans that struggle with mental, behavioral health, or substance use issues. In recent years, Colorado has seen an uptick in mental health needs and overdose instances as we navigated the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here in Colorado, behavioral health is top of mind at the moment, with the recent passage of the Behavioral Health Administration Bill in the State Senate. Colorado is also welcoming our first Behavioral Health Commissioner, who will partake in the event for the first time. Dr. Medlock will be speaking, alongside Governor Polis, and will be taking questions following the main event.

This year’s event will have a focus on diversity and equity within the behavioral health system, as the state moves towards change and transformation.
