DENVER, COLO-Oct. 20, 2022: Doyle Forrestal, CEO of the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC) since 2015, is retiring effective June 30, 2023.
“It’s bittersweet to leave an organization I love so deeply,” said Forrestal. “Supporting Colorado’s community mental health providers in their work to care for Colorado’s most vulnerable populations has fed my soul. But, after years of dreaming about retiring to a place that’s sunny and warm, my husband and I found an ideal house in Florida and decided to seize the opportunity.”
Forrestal will split her time between Denver and Florida beginning in November, as she works with the board to guide the organization through a successful transition.
“It’s hard to imagine CBHC without Doyle,” said Michael Allen, CEO of SummitStone Health Partners and board chair of CBHC. “She started here in 2006 as our director of public policy, then came back as CEO after helping guide the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in our region for four years. As CEO, she has guided our members through significant changes in the Medicaid program, kept us organized and informed during the Covid pandemic and guided us through many state policy conversations always with a clear vision and unwavering commitment to the clients our centers serve. Hers will be big shoes to fill.”
The board will retain a search firm to assist with recruiting a new CEO.
