The Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council would like to introduce you to our new CEO, Kara Johnson-Hufford.
A few words from Kara Johnson-Hufford
I’m thrilled and honored to be taking the reins at CBHC. Doyle’s are big shoes to fill, and I’m eager to begin the work.
The video that accompanies this gives you a bit of an introduction to me. I also wanted to explain a bit more about my vision here.
First, I am deeply invested in people, positive working relationships and processes that positively impact Colorado’s behavioral healthcare system. I have had an opportunity to influence and inform those processes from a state level these last number of years, and I am eager to do so now by returning to my roots on the provider, person-centered care side.
Colorado’s behavioral healthcare system is at a critical juncture as we implement the reforms that have been enacted over the last few years. CBHC is uniquely positioned to inform the next generation of behavioral healthcare design. And I believe strongly that, working collectively with other stakeholders – patient advocates, other providers, community partners and policymakers – we can do more to benefit Colorado’s citizens than any one group could achieve separately.
Over my first 100 days, I will be touring the state to meet with our members and see each center’s unique community-focused operations firsthand. I’ll also be meeting with policymakers, key legislators and our valued partners. I look forward to hearing their views and insights. The CBHC staff and I will update the organization’s strategic plan to reflect the learnings from these interactions, as well as the latest changes to the policy environment.
I invite you to reach out to me at any time at kjohnson-hufford@cbhc.org. I look forward to engaging with all our partners in the coming months and years.
