On May 6th, Solvista Health officially broke ground on their new Regional Assessment Center (RAC) in Salida. Salida sits in the middle of a 13,000 square mile swath of Colorado without higher levels of substance use treatment. The RAC will change that when the center is completed in March of 2022.
The new center will mean that people won’t have to travel to Colorado Springs or Grand Junction for treatment. Services will include short-term substance use and mental health treatment, withdrawal support, and respite care.
Solvista Health received a $700,000 grant from the state in February 2020 to start the construction, and the organization is planning to raise an additional $6.5 million for the completion of the site. You can learn more about the new facility and other projects in the works by Solvista Health as well as make a donation at https://solvistahealth.org/donate/.
